How Does This Online Course Work?

This online course has both face-to-face meetings (via Zoom) and self-paced learning components. We will utilize a Learning Management System (LMS; a web-based portal) to complement the online lectures and meetings for the entire duration of the online course.

On Saturday, 17 September 2022, the online course will kick off with a live lecture via Zoom Meeting from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN and 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. To be discussed in this session are the basics of Cybersecurity among many other things. All attendees of this online session will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
From Saturday, 17 September 2022 (right after the live lecture via Zoom) until the end of the year 2022, course participants will have access to the LMS website where different topics are discussed in detail. Participants can interact with the course facilitator, as well as with their fellow learners through different activities and discussion forums inside the LMS. Copies of lecture files (slide decks, sample forms, etc.) will be available for download from the LMS. Online Quizzes & Assessments will also be given via the LMS. Participation in the LMS website is purely OPTIONAL.
A Weekly Check-in session will be hosted by the course facilitator via Zoom every Monday afternoon (or based on an agreed day and time among course participants). It is during this online meeting that course participants may ask questions or consult about real-life challenges related to cybersecurity within their respective organizations. Attendance to the Weekly Check-in session is NOT REQUIRED.

Issuance of Certificate of Attendance

All course participants of the Cybersecurity (Basic) Online Course shall receive a digital Certificate of Attendance within twenty-four (24) hours after the online session.

Issuance of Certificate of Accomplishment

All course participants of the Cybersecurity (Basic) Online Course who will pass all Online Quizzes and Assessments at the LMS will receive an additional Certificate of Accomplishment within forty-eight (48) hours upon completion.

Both the Certificate of Attendance and Certificate of Accomplishment credentials can be verified online on our website.

Speaker Profile

Justin David Pineda is the President and Principal Consultant of Pineda Cybersecurity, an IT consulting firm that provides cybersecurity and data privacy services mostly for MSMEs. He held various cybersecurity roles, both technical and managerial in different companies such as bneXt, Ingram Micro, The Coca-Cola Company, Silverysky, and JG Summit Holdings, Inc.

He also teaches cybersecurity courses in a number of universities both for undergraduate and graduate levels. Justin is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

Justin finished his Master in Information Systems (MIS) from the Asia Pacific College and BS in Computer Science from the De La Salle University – Manila.

Learning Fee

To be part of this online course, a minimal Learning Fee of PHP8,999.00 will be charged per participant. Group Discounts for businesses and organizations sending two (02) or more participants for this session are also available.
